Being competitive in the oil & gas industry means doing business in countries that are considered high-risk, OMV cares deeply for the safety of its employees, as well as the ethical, legal and reputational implications of sending business travellers around the globe.

To ensure better safety of their employees, Group Security identified the need for a training solution that could be rolled out to all its business travellers. The Security Team wanted to make the training their own, fully integrated with OMV’s travel management program.

To address that, OMV’s Security team sought out a partner with latest learning technologies to create a best in class travel security awareness experience.

Our team has spent the last 5 years crafting and perfecting our comprehensive and customizable Travel Security training. It consists of modular e-learning modules and videos (including instructor led videos and interactive POV scenarios). The program provides the learners with the foundational principles of safe travel across a broad range of relevant topics, risks and challenges.

Over a quick initial discussion, we have understood that to make the best solution for OMV, the training should be the right blend of cutting-edge technology and storytelling to keep learners interested and eager to learn as much as they can. By the end, the full Travel Awareness solution included a Foundation Video, 2 core Travel and Higher Risk Modules, supplemented by profile specific training for Women and LGBTQ travelers – a package that would help elevate OMV’s travel security awareness in a fun, engaging, and impactful way.

OMV got great feedback from its users, they loved the training. Without any enforcement, the participation rate was over 50% of its business travellers in the first few weeks. Just under 1,300 travellers completed the training in the first month, including all four board members.
